Most modern automation systems are converging on a common IP based architecture that uses all or some of the elements described below:
Industrial PCs are the data processing and visualisation 'brains' of the system. Ethernet is used as the network infrastructure through the deployment of Industrial Ethernet switches. Cellular routers provide cable-free access to the internet and to other remote sites. Digital and analogue signals from a myriad of transducers can be captured with remote I/O modules. Serial to Ethernet converters allow legacy RS232/422/485 devices to be used on an IP based network.
Amplicon are able to deliver complete hardware solutions and can customise or integrate different parts of the system. Our team of qualified technical sales engineers, product specialists and application engineers are able to provide free pre-sales consultancy and assist with the design and implementation of bespoke solutions.
Amplicon has extensive experience of specifying, manufacturing and customising Industrial PCs. We supply rugged, repeatable and highly reliable Industrial computers to a wide range of vertical markets. Our systems are regularly used as platforms for Automated Test Systems, SCADA terminals in factory automation, ANPR / CCTV projects and many other applications.
Our key product areas are Rackmount PCs, Embedded computers and Panel PCs with hundreds of different models available. Supporting these core products are Industrial monitors, Rugged keyboards, KVM products, Rack cabinets and UPS' as well as an innovative range of PCI and PCIe expansion solutions.
The Amplicon engineering team are able to fully customise any Industrial computer platforms to meet the specific requirements of your project. We can also brand Industrial PC systems with your company logo and colours providing a bespoke product that will provide a professional finish to every installation.
Amplicon's Data Communications team supply wired and wireless infrastructure products for almost any application. With many different product variants in the range and a team of experts available for free pre-sales consultancy, there are very few connectivity problems we cannot solve.
Industrial Ethernet switches, media converters and routers along with our Ethernet Extenders and Serial to Ethernet converters form the mainstay of our offering for todays IP based networks. Whether you require a redundant ring topology for networking PLCs on the shop floor or a simple point to point fibre-optic link between roadside cabinets Amplicon have the products to meet all of your requirements
Our range of cellular routers and wireless LAN equipment are ideal for both short and long-range wireless projects and can be used in conjunction with wired IP networking products. We supply RS232, RS422, RS485, GPIB and CAN connectivity products as well as the world's most complete line of USB Extenders.
MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL
There are thousands of transducers available that provide measurements of physical values such as pressure, temperature, humidity and acceleration. If you need to capture and record these signals for real-time or post capture analysis then Amplicon's Measurement and Control team can provide a solution for you.
Our broad range of data-loggers and Test & Measurement hardware such as oscilloscopes, signal generators and precision DMM's can provide stand-alone signal monitoring and analysis. Alternatively our PC based data acquisition and signal conditioning products are available for logging data to a PC's memory / hard disk. A range of PXI and CompactPCI (cPCI) chassis and plug-in cards are available for customers who need to put together a high quality stand-alone test and measurement solution.
'Distributed I/O' or 'Remote I/O' is one of the fastest growing technologies within Measurement and Control. These modules can input or output digital or analogue signals locally and transfer the data across a LAN, WAN or internet. Both are available with Ethernet or serial communications using Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU or Profibus protocols.
After many years of providing increasingly complex systems to the market place Amplicon have combined best engineering practice over a range of disciplines to provide a fully competent engineering facility. The goal is to become an extension of your engineering and purchasing team, alleviating all your hardware headaches from technical specification through to cabling and termination
Our engineering services include electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, cabinet integration, software services, EMC test facility, training and procurement services.
