VXI (VME eXtensions for Instrumentation) is an open standard platform for automated test based on the VMEbus. Users can control a VXI system with a remote general-purpose computer using GPIB interface; you can also embed a computer into a VXI chassis and directly control your system.
The modular form factor, high bandwidth, and commercial success of the VMEbus made VXI attractive as an instrumentation platform. The popularity of GPIB (General purpose Interface Bus) also made it attractive as a model for device communication and instrument control protocols. The VXIbus specification adds the standards necessary to combine the VMEbus with GPIB to create a new, modular instrumentation platform .
Amplicon offer a range of VXI devices such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators, RF and wireless communications test equipment. We can also supply a VXI form factor replacement solution for legacy instruments such as Keysight (formerly Agilent) E1426A, E1428A, E1429B; Analogic DBS901, DBS907AB + DBS9905; Rascal 3153; Symmetricom BC824VXI; Tektronix TV621 and Lecroy PXD22.
