On Friday 20th October, a group of 14 Amplicon employees headed to a local Leisure Centre for an after work kick-about to help raise funds for Breast Cancer Now.
For many years Amplicon has supported the Breast Cancer charity and this October Amplicon managed to increase donations to over £1,450. With grateful thanks to the kind support of employees, friends and family members.
The fundraiser football match was organised by Amplicon Marketing Manager, Miriam Bernal, an avid supporter of Breast Cancer Now and active participant in football outside of the work place.
Breast Cancer Now is the largest breast cancer research charity in the UK and is dedicated to finding a cure to this devastating disease. As giving back to the community is a huge part in the Amplicon philosophy, everyone thoroughly embraced the football fundraiser, with a number of past employees coming to show their support on the side lines.
The match started out as non-competitive, with both teams finding much entertainment in the lack of coordination of the opposing team. However, as the goals started to go in, both teams picked up the pace and soon the focus changed to the final outcome of the match.
After the game drew to a close with a final score of 6-7, everyone was exhausted and looking forward to getting into a hot bath at home. Both teams gave it 100% and helped raise an amazing £1,450 for a much deserving charity.
Catherine Davies, Community Fundraising Manager at Breast Cancer Now, said:
“We are so grateful for Amplicon’s wonderful support, and to each and every one of our supporters – their passionate fundraising is so valuable and will help Breast Cancer Now continue to fund life-saving breast cancer research.”
