Amplicon has signed a significant distribution deal with RS Components
, Europe's leading distributor of electronic, electrical, electromechanical and industrial components. RS will distribute products from Amplicon's range of industrial computers, data communications converters including Icron USB extenders and data acquisition cards in both Europe and the UK. The deal will enable RS to update and enhance its product range to include the latest products on the market.
Julian Wood, Market Development Manager for Process, Control & Automation products at RS, said of the deal, "We pick our suppliers very carefully and have been impressed by Amplicon's extensive and reliable product range. We needed to refresh our range of industrial computers and data comms products and Amplicon has allowed us to do so. The decision to stock Amplicon says a lot about its reputation in the industry and our confidence in them as a supplier."
The products to be stocked by RS will include the cutting-edge Ventrix, Impact and Impact-E systems from Amplicon's Industrial PC offering. Additionally, RS has selected Amplicon's data communications converters and data acquisition cards due to their renowned functionality and competitive price. The Icron USB extenders, a unique offering from Amplicon in the UK, will be a new addition to RS's line-up. Intended for any situation where it is advantageous for a computer to be located tens of meters away from another piece of peripheral equipment, the USB extender provides a solution if cabling is not practical or if the environment is unsuitable for computers.
Gina Citroni, Commercial Director at Amplicon commented, "Having signed the deal with RS we are looking forward to working together. Utilising RS's distribution channels will open up new markets for Amplicon and our products. As such, this represents a significant step for our business. It reinforces Amplicon's position as a supplier of connected computer-based measurement and automation systems, capable of supporting distribution and major OEMs alike.
Amplicon will make its first delivery to RS on the 21st September 2007 and its products will feature in RS's new catalogue, due out in October.
