Amplicon is pleased to announce the availability of ACTi's flexible range of video encoder / decoder and IP camera solutions, extending Amplicon's IP video capability with the highest quality products at competitive prices.
The flagship product in the range, the SED-2120, is an MPEG4-ASP compliant video server, providing D1 resolution at full PAL / NTSC frame rates. The SED-2120 has dual MPEG-4 outputs which can be set independently according to network bandwidth available. The dual Ethernet ports can also serve to provide redundant network connectivity, a unique feature that can be employed by integrators to greatly increase system availability.
The SED-2120 variants include the 'S' version, a low cost video server operating at CIF resolution and a 'T' version with an extended temperature range of -30°C to + 70°C. Standard features throughout the range include an embedded time-stamp, QoS, PTZ support, digital I/O, motion detection and PPPoE support for use with ADSL connections.
Monitoring and surveillance software is provided, allowing end users to easily create a 16-channel surveillance system with alarm outputs, PTZ presets and video motion detection. An extensive software library for C and VB and a set of Active X controls is also available for integrators wishing to build a custom video solution.
David Evans, Data Communications Product Manager at Amplicon commented, "IP video is a natural progression for Amplicon. We have been specifying and designing Industrial Ethernet solutions for several years and video is becoming an important requirement for many of the networks that we supply. Video encoders will partner our other gateway products such as RS232, RS485, Digital I/O and Analogue I/O to Ethernet converters, allowing our customers to achieve the cost-effective ideal of 'Everything over IP'".
