Welcome to our August newsletter

At Amplicon we are just starting out on our new financial year and a healthy dose of optimism seems to be permeating not only the team here but also that of many of our customers.

Over the past few years many of us have been faced with difficult trading conditions; recently along with the unexpected sunshine and high temperatures we have also seen the welcome news that we are a nation of winners! From tennis to cycling, rugby, or cricket there seems to be no end to our talents!

Let's all enjoy this fabulous summer and try and build on these winning ways!

My warmest regards to you all, Gina Citroni sig

Amplicon Test Systems for innovative identification technology
Ingenia case study The Amplicon Engineering Services (AES) team has recently been involved in a project to design and build an innovative identification system to be used on product surfaces. The client, Ingenia, developed a Laser Surface Authentication (LSA™) technology that provides a solution for unique brand protection, track & trace, and document authentication.

Ingenia approached Amplicon to design and manufacture a cabinet to house the specialist Ingenia hardware and to provide a reliable computing and networking solution ensuring the system would work 24/7 in a factory floor environment. Dr. Simon Buehlmann at Ingenia commented: "The Amplicon engineering team made a positive contribution to the Ingenia system".

New Compact Ivy Bridge embedded PC
Impact-E 200 embedded PC
The new Amplicon Impact-E 200 embedded PC builds on the strong foundations of the existing Amplicon Impact-E series to deliver the power of the 3rd generation mobile iCore processor. This processing power coupled with the QM77 chipset, brings high-speed data transfer with SATA III and “SuperSpeed” USB 3.0 of up to 6Gb/s and 5Gb/s respectively.

The Impact-E 200 has been designed for space-constrained applications in mind, where size must be small but power must be great. The build utilises a single extruded lid to aid heat dissipation enabling the unit to operate in ambient temperatures of up to 55°C.

Rich in I/O and fully customisable, the new Impact-E 200 is a flexible and versatile unit being well suited to multiple industrial applications including automation, SCADA, process control, and rapid deployment scenarios.

Powerful and compact cellular routers
Digi Transport WR21 cellular router
The Digi Transport WR21 is based on the hugely successful Digi Transport series of enterprise class routers; it is from this legacy that the WR21 inherits its advanced routing functionality and resilient cellular network features. The WR21 sets itself apart with its compact rugged design, future proof HSUPA communications and a price point that rivals many basic cellular modems on the market. The WR21 is an ideal solution for security, point of sale and remote office applications where advanced enterprise class protocols are required such as advanced routing, stateful inspection firewall, integrated VPN and NAT.

One very important feature implemented is port forwarding; this allows users to direct incoming connections to the correct internal computers and IP enabled devices. For more information on how to configure port forwarding for your application, watch our latest video guide.

New compact 4-wire process transmitters
Acromag TT330 oricess transmitters
The Amplicon Measurement & Control division has launched the new TT330 series. The TT330 series of compact 4-wire process transmitters provides isolation and will convert thermocouple, voltage, frequency/pulse or current sensor inputs into a proportional output signal.

The TT330 series features a wide operating temperature range of -40 to 85°C, fast response time, electrical noise immunity, and surge protection; essential for consistent performance in harsh environments. These transmitters are DIN-rail mountable and are easily setup and calibrated using the free Windows configuration software.

Built to the aerospace standard AS9100 and backed by an outstanding 7-year warranty, users can rely on the TT330 transmitters for a long-lasting superior performance, even under the toughest conditions.
