Amplicon supporting YMCA DownsLink Group movement

Amplicon are always looking to engage and support local charities throughout Sussex.

Recently, Amplicon has become a member of the YMCA DownsLink Group Movement, who aim to stand with and support vulnerable young people, who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in March of 2020 there has been a large increase in homeless young people in the South East of England. Since then, the numbers of young people evicted, thrown out or leaving home has continued to rise every week.

Due to lockdown, job cuts and closures in some educational institutions, many young people have been struggling both financially and with their mental health, many of whom have been able to turn to YMCA for housing, support and guidance. As a charity, YMCA DownsLink Group has been working towards the prevention of homeless young all around the Sussex and Surrey areas.

Amplicon is proud to lend their support to the centre situated in Brighton & Hove as well as other centres spread throughout the county; all of whom provide shelter to over 750 young people during the night.

Sam Hart, Corporate Partnerships Manager for YMCA DLG commented: “Following a 61% increase in homeless young people needing support from YMCA DownsLink Group, we are asking businesses to help support vital services, like our Youth Advice Centre in Brighton. Thank-you to Amplicon for joining our membership movement and for standing with vulnerable young people, by pledging an annual donation”

“Through difficult circumstances during the pandemic, it has been an important duty for Amplicon to offer support, and we are delighted to be partners with YMCA, as we stand united to help combat homelessness throughout our communities. We truly hope that more local businesses can continue to pledge their support for this cause.” – Amplicon
