Amplicon raises £450 for Albion in the community

On March 29th, Amplicon hosted a fundraising day in support of the local charity Albion in the Community, the official charity of the Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club. Albion in the community works with the local area to improve the health, wellbeing, education and aspirations of people living in Sussex through the power of football and the brand of the Albion.

To support the vital work this charity does and the Blue & White day charity event, Amplicon invited all employees to wear the Brighton colours and organised an action packed day with plenty of football related fundraising activities.

On the day, Team Amplicon was given the choice to compete in five different games to obtain raffle tickets for the chance to win some exciting prizes. There was a donation fee to play each of these games, which included football toss, table football and even cone dribbling races!

The fabulous prizes up for grabs consisted of two Albion vs Cardiff tickets, one official Albion FC scarf and several Albion FC medals.

Following a morning packed with fun activities, Amplicon had a very special visit in the afternoon with Sally, the female mascot of the BHAFC coming to Amplicon to say Hi as well as to draw the raffle tickets of the lucky winners.

After the final count up Amplicon had raised a fantastic £450 for Albion in the Community; Amplicon extends its heartfelt thanks to Steve Rooke for donating the football tickets, to Mark Bushby the Amplicon Finance Director for donating the scarf and to local shop Hobbycraft for supplying the balloons.

Matt Dorn, Chief Executive at Albion in the Community said: “Blue and White Day is an important part of our annual fundraising efforts and we were incredibly grateful for the generosity we received from local businesses.

The money raised on the day will help fund our important community projects across Sussex including supporting our football sessions for young people with a disability. These cost upwards of £2,500 a year to run, so the £450 raised by staff at Amplicon will make a real difference to some of the people we work with. It is equivalent to paying for one of our sessions for more than two months.”
