Serial I/O .

Serial Remote I/O is the perfect choice for establishing a cost-effective process control remote I/O system. Process engineers can benefit from serial remote I/O products through its simple wiring as it only uses two wires to communicate with the controller or other RS-485 devices. Serial remote I/O uses the EIA RS-485 communication protocol to transmit and receive data at high speed over long distance.

Distributed Serial I/O is designed for system integrators to monitor and control remote digital and analogue devices over both RS-232 and RS-485 connections. Different types of analogue and digital on/off devices can be controlled, including temperature, current, strain gauge, proximity switches, mechanical switches, push buttons, optical sensors, LEDs and light switches.

Modular Serial I/O is an RS-485 remote I/O expansion unit, specifically designed to acquire and control remote I/O signals through RS-485 connections over a twisted pair or multi-drop network. It comprises of a CPU module with non-volatile memory to backup/restore I/O modules configurations, RS-485 port for 1.2 Km long distance communication, power module and backplane with a number of I/O slots for flexible I/O configuration. In order to connect a serial remote I/O to a PC an RS485/RS232 converter is always required as industrial PC will typically have an RS232 port.

Amplicon offers a wide range of multi-channel serial remote I/O products that are designed for any process signal travelling over an RS485 network. For applications that require a vast amount of different process signals the modular serial remote I/O will be the perfect solution.
