Over the years, the Programmable Logic Control (PLC) has primarily been used to perform automation, process control and data acquisition functions such as digital and analogue control, serial string handling, PID, motional and machine vision. Today, all of these functions can be performed by using a Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) unit.
