For many years we have been anxiously awaiting this day in fact most believed it would be a day we might never see! Amplicon are delighted to announce the arrival of 2 very special young ladies. On the 15th December our financial controller Suzanne Hegarty gave birth to her first baby. The beautiful Elliot Mae made her debut at 10:30am weighing in at a very healthy 8lbs. Not to be out done Mo Ahmed one of our sales engineers and his partner Lara welcomed their first baby on 18th January. Another beautiful girl Kyla arrived at 4:30am +ndash; bright and early for the working week! Mothers and babies are doing well and Dads are still recovering! What a fantastic start to our new year! Congratulations to both couples.

The newly released G3111 from Amplicon is an intelligent IP modem providing customers with a simple method of connecting to serial devices anywhere in the world. The innovative +lsquo;Reverse Real COM mode of operation overcomes the classic connectivity problems inherent in cellular networks making global GPRS connections easier than ever before. The G3111 (RS232 only) and the G3151 (RS232/422/485 selectable) are a new generation of Intelligent modems that behave like Serial to Ethernet converters with a GPRS network interface instead of the customary 10/100Mbps Ethernet interface. Amplicons new Ethernet I/O range delivers major cost savings to customers that want to monitor and control devices over an IP network. The Moxa ioLogik E1200 series have an Ethernet switch built-in and are priced as one of the most cost-effective new ranges of Remote I/O products on the market today. The event was divided into zoned areas that related to key employment opportunities and in many cases gave hands-on experience of what the students could expect in the work place.The feedback from the students was very positive and Gill Ditch of the Education and Business Partnership commented All of us in the Learning Partnership/EBP team want to thank Amplicon for the fantastic stand and activities for students. Amplicon have been supporting the Breast Cancer campaign for many years and every year come up with a new way to raise funds for the charity. This year the staff at Amplicon could chose to wear their underwear over their jeans or come in pyjamas! A fine was imposed for anyone not joining in the fun!As you can see from the picture the outfits caused much hilarity especially our telemarketing executive Bernie Akehurst who arrived in the office sporting very attractive blue pyjamas matching dressing gown and his bath towel! The senior managers each gave up a days holiday pay to boost the funds and this year we have managed to raise +pound;1405!

Amplicons Data Communications Group has recently sold the very first 6KL Industrial Ethernet switch in Europe. The 6KL codenamed London is Garrettcoms most competitive Industrial Ethernet switch ever and a sign that truly rugged Industrial Ethernet products are now even more affordable.The 6KL is one of the lowest cost modular Industrial Ethernet switches available on the market. She will have to complete and pass another 8 examinations and this will take her around 18 months to complete. At the end of this marathon she will become a certified chartered accountant. Congratulations go to Leon Mengot industrial computing product manager who has just passed his General Management Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree. This was a 3-year part-time course studied at the University of Brighton from September 2006 to June 2009.The course comprised an induction phase followed by three study phases each study phase lasting a year. Phase 1 covered +lsquo;The Organisation in its Environment +lsquo;Managing Performance and +lsquo;Research skills workshop. Phase 2 +lsquo;Managing Systems: People Information and Knowledge +lsquo;Strategic Planning and Marketing and +lsquo;Consultancy skills workshop. Phase 3 comprised of a module and an elective. +lsquo;Developing Strategic Capability and +lsquo;Consultancy skills Elective study (other options included Quality management E-Business Supply chain management Knowledge management and International business). Leon commented +lsquo;Overall it has been a difficult and priceless experience. I have made many new friends and finally obtained a post-graduate business degree to complement my engineering degree a Masters in Electronic Systems Engineering. I am now looking forward to the graduation ceremony on Friday 31st July 2009.

15.07.2009 A Sexy Cellular Solution from Amplicon

The new ioLogik W5340 Active Ethernet I/O module uses quad band GPRS for communication over the mobile telephone network from anywhere in the world. It can monitor both analogue and digital signals from instruments and switches whilst control is provided by relays or digital outputs. I/O can be controlled remotely by any SCADA system using Modbus TCP or OPC. The W5340 uses Active messaging to send alarms or other messages when water levels or similar limits are exceeded. Click +lsquo;n Go+rdquo; logic provides local PLC-like control which could be particularly useful if and when the local GPRS signal is lost.John Hayward Product Manager for Measurement and Control at Amplicon commented: The combination of Active remote I/O and a GPRS router in one package will enable our customers to save purchase costs and reduce cabinet size. Amplicon+ s 5-a-side football team have finally made it to the heady heights of Premiership champion status!A hard fought 2 - 0 victory in the last game of the season and results from other fixtures going their way meantthat Amplicon ended in 1st place of Brighton+ s top league on goal difference.Team water boy and Amplicon+ s graphic designer Simon + Clownface+ Coxshaw commented:It was a great way to finally realise an achievement we have battled for over many seasons.
