 The requirement
The customer requirement was for a device that could provide 16 channels of RS232 across a wireless Ethernet connection to an Access Point (AP) located on the other side of a room.
The solution
Without an off-the-shelf solution available, Amplicon integrated a 16 channel Device Server, AP, power supply and cabling into a polycarbonate enclosure. The enclosure had ventilation, power and data cabling holes cut/drilled as per the required specification.
An enclosure provides protection from physical damage and from malicious or dishonest passers-by. It also provides environmental protection up to the required IP rating. |
