Active I/O (input/ output) is a new way for PC-based data acquisition & control servers to transmit I/O data proactively over an open network. Rather than passively waiting for a host PC to request information, an Active Ethernet I/O server intelligently transmits data over the network when certain customisable I/O conditions are met. Network and host resources are conserved because the server does not need to be continually polled for information.
Active Ethernet I/O also provides an easy way to automate sensor and switch control without programming, due to the patented Click&GoTM logic and easy-to-use Windows/Linux programming library. Up to 24 rules can be set using "If x Then y Else z" statements to provide control functions on-board the I/O device, independent of the PC.
