The CSG14 series products have 2 x RJ45 copper ports that support speeds of 10/100/1000Mbps and a selection of fibre optic interfaces for 1000Mbps Ethernet over fibre. These media converters take advantage of an innovative new gigabit optical standard - 1000 Base ESX - that allows gigabit Ethernet connections over multimode fibre up to 2km. This can save a lot of money by removing the requirement to install costly singlemode fibre and permitting the use of multimode fibre in excess of the current 550m distance limit.

The units come in 3 variants - standard, (H) Hardened and (P) Premium rated for applications requiring various degrees of ruggedness. Mains (via an external PSU), 12Vdc, 24Vdc and 48Vdc versions are available to provide maximum powering flexibility.
