The model 1173 units operate in pairs to transparently extend Ethernet connections to IP cameras up to 1.5km over a single 'telephone grade' pair of twisted wires.

This innovative technology can drastically reduce the costs of installing new IP cameras - no need for expensive fibre-optic cables or wireless bridging equipment - simply use an existing pair of wires (an old telephone connection or defunct RS485 cabling) and build a very cost-effective LAN extension.

Once in place it can be used for any other network devices that are in the vicinity, simply add an Ethernet switch for connectivity to several devices.
