It is often impossible to get an internet connection from customer sites due to IT restrictions. These devices will allow your serial or Ethernet equipment to connect to a remote PC using the cellular network. Most BMS data is low-bandwidth. In this instance GPRS provides a cost effective connection. If high-bandwidth is required (for video as well as control signals) then 3G/HSDPA routers are a must.
