Amplicon Ventrix now available with 45nm Intel Processor

Amplicon’s Industrial Computing Group has released the next generation of Ventrix Industrial Computer systems to deliver the latest Intel roadmapped processors to our customers. All of our form factors are now available with 45nm Intel Core 2 Quad processing power!

One of the key performance features of any processor is the cache memory. Compared to the main memory the cache is small in capacity, but has an extremely fast access time. The Intel 45nm series processors incorporate two significant advances in cache technology, which greatly improve performance:

• Smart Memory Access uses a newly developed prediction mechanism to manage processor cache memory more effective. New pre-fetch algorithms move data from system memory into fast level 2 processor cache in advance of execution more.
• Advanced Smart Cache dynamically shares the level 2 cache across the individual processor cores based on their workload. This increases the total amount of available cache to each core, significantly improving the cache effectiveness.

Intel Core 2 Quad processors provide four complete execution cores in a single processor. Each of the four cores can complete up to four full instructions simultaneously, to bring you the blistering performance necessary for demanding industrial applications, such as ultrasonic inspection using high speed digitizers.
