An industrial access point such as the AWK-5222 can provide a redundant wireless bridge by using 5GHz and 2.4GHz radios to provide redundant media paths. This overcomes many of the concerns about lack of reliability in wireless and can save the cost of expensive or difficult installation
Mesh Topology
Amplicon's Industrial access points can expand upon the wireless bridge principal to build point to multi-point or mesh networks. Most of Amplicon's wireless access points support bridge functionality and several support wireless client functionality - in effect converting a wired Ethernet device into a wireless Ethernet device so it can be integrated into an 802.11a or 802.11b network.
Redundant Backbone
An industrial wireless access point such as the Moxa AWK-3121 will support RSTP to allow a mesh of access points to form a redundant network. The AWK-5222 dual RF access point can support RSTP for an 802.11a backbone and use 802.11b/g for connections to devices on the edge of the network.
Whatever the wireless topology you require and whatever the price point your application requires, Amplicon can offer a low-cost wireless access point, an industrial access point or an outdoor access point.
